LINK to DROMOLOGY: ECSTASIES OF SPEED
[at NEW LANGTON ARTS, S.F. CA]

Speed is the form of ecstasy the technical revolution has bestowed on man.
- Milan Kundera

We affirm that the world's magnificence has been enriched by a new beauty: the beauty of speed. A racing car whose hood is adorned with great pipes, like serpents of explosive breath - a roaring car that seems to ride on grapeshot is more beautiful than the Victory of Samothrace... We already live in the absolute, because we have created eternal, omnipresent speed.

- Filippo Tommaso Marinetti

Road Show '97
Bronwyn Keenan Gallery, through Sat 15 (see elsewhere)

Sometimes the best shows aren't in a gallery or museum but in some neutral, temporary setting. Such is the case with Bronwyn Keenan's current show; she's packed up some young hopefuls and taken them uptown for "Road Trip," a month-long stay at a loft near Grand Central. Here, she offers a kicky mix of painters, sculptors and video artists the opportunity to sound off on the theme of travel....
